Short of ten, but made it six
A Protect*A*Bed mattress cover was recommended when we purchased our new mattress in (2013), at our last bedding change (2019)I noticed the waterproof backing was torn and disintegrating so I ordered a new replacement. I put the new protector on today. Up until the point the old protector failed I was happy with its function and feel. We will see how the new one lasts, six years for the old one wasn't the ten years it was warranted for, but I guess six years isn't bad. I attached some photos to show my description, understand the cover is on upside down to show the failure.

Protector failed
Two days ago my young son had an accident in our bedrl. When we changed the sheets we realized that our protect a bed mattress protector had failed to do the one thing it is intended to do. Upon removing the protector from the bed we noticed that the entire waterproof backing had disintegrated even though we had followed all of the Care for instructions and had noticed no peeling after we had previously washed it. Upon contacting protect-a-bed about our warranty. We were told they would send us a replacement protector however would not honor cleaning the mattress or replacing it as we had purchased the protector prior to purchasing our mattress even though the protector was still within the warranty.. now I completely understand why a protector could not be purchased after the mattress purchase as a stain could have gotten on the mattress before the mattress protector was purchased but I fail to see how my purchasing the mattress protector prior to the mattress indicates that the mattress protector was less likely to have been on the bed then if the protector that was purchased at the exact same time as the mattress

Worked the first one or two times
Although this did work the first one or two times it is completely ineffective now. Unless I can hurry and remove the sheets as soon as an accident occurs it is like having nothing other than sheets on the bed. So my very expensive mattress is messed up and has had the warranty voided after it is only a few years old. I am so upset that I wasted money on this product.

Super soft and comfy
Everyone can benefit from adding a little additional mattress protection to prolong the life of their mattress and I was no different. When we were given the waterproof one we were a bit concerned that we would spend our nights listening to the crackling of the protector. Not the case at all. If I hadn't read it I would not have known it was waterproof. Added an extra level of comfort that most mattress pads do. Also it was a very tight fit. Not the kind that you struggle to place it, but one that went on easy but held firm. Very good and well made product.

I DID IT ALL WRONG
Now on my first replacement, I did it wrong. Used wrong products for washing. It says no bleach, fabric softener and to dry on medium heat. Since it was my first one the company did replace it. Told me how to wash and dry correctly. When I dry this unit, I put a dry bath towel in the dryer along with the wet mattress pad.Check it about every 20 minutes while in the dryer and rotate it so the backing is not touching the dryer drum. Purchased two in 2007 and on of the replacements just failed. I've had nothing but good service even when I was at fault. Oh, yes DO KEEP THE ORIGINAL RECEIPT. Copy it when you make the purchase. That way you have a clear copy that can be scanned to e-mail or fax. Over time it may fade and be of no use.

I am buying this product again and
I have used this brand for many years for both mattress and pillow covers. I am replacing two 6 year old Cotton Terry cloth Premium Waterproof Mattress Protectors. The problem I have encountered is that the rubber backing has deteriorated and peels off. I am hoping there are improvements in this product.

Unreliable, waste of money
I bought these for 3 beds and the covers worked the first time my child wet the bed.. then after washing and fully following the instructions, the covers no longer worked. What a waste of money

I have this product, noticed it contains polyurethane
Concerned that now I need to buy a new mattress pad. Other companies are advertising a "non-toxic polyurethane underside" but I don't see that anywhere on this site. Very concerned.

Feels and sounds plastic-y
This definitely feels and sounds plastic-y. The only way to return is to call the phone number for returns, but each time I call I get a message that "all circuits are busy." I've tried numerous times. Don't buy this unless you're certain you won't return it because it appears it's not possible to return anything.

False Advertising... is NOT waterproof!!
This item states it's waterproof.... it is NOT waterproof. My child has the occasional bed wetting and well it did not protect against it. The exact reason i went with this brand and style is because the advertising says it is waterproof and protects against bedwetting.

I bought one for ALL the beds in my home!
I have used this product in the past on my King bed...it is OUTSTANDING. I have dogs and nothing has gone through this mattress protector. SO I ordered one of each of the other two beds in my home. I would HIGHLY recommend this product for ANYONE, young, old, pet owners. It lasts, and lasts and lasts for years......I have never had a mattress cover last as long as this one. EXCELLENT PRODUCT!

Protect*A*Bed queen size mattress protector
The Protect-A-Bed cotton terry mattress protector is a top notch, high quality product. I have used many different brands of mattress protectors in the past. This mattress protector is by far the best thus far. My mattress is very deep and Protect-A-Bed's is the only one that stays on my mattress without continually slipping off. With other brands, we would wake up in the morning and the mattress protector and sheets would have slipped off in the night. The great qualities to this mattress protector are that it's breathable, waterproof and absorbent, and has an allergen and dustmite barrier. The only downfall to the mattress protector was the material initially has a rough texture. After a few washes, however, it did soften up somewhat. Other than that, I would definitely purchase another Protect-A-Bed mattress protector or any other products manufactured by their company. Prior to using the mattress protector I was unaware of this brand but I'm so grateful that I have discovered them. Their product raises the bar on quality and I will and have certainly recommended the Protect-A-Bed brand.

I am satisfied with your online ordering, other than I was charged VA State Sales Tax without an option to furnish a certificate of exemption for same. I did provide our regist. # on my order an hope it will be deleted. The other reason for my low rating is that I tried to place by phone and pretty much did not receive the kind of customer service I would expect for a $1,600.00 order.

Great Protection
The Premium Cotton Terry Cloth Waterproof Mattress Pad Protector is very soft on the top. It's not bulky or has extra padding on it, so it doesn't interfere with the comfort of your mattress. It has very deep sides on it to be able to fit a deep mattress. It stops dust mites, allergens and liquids from getting into your mattress. It has a plastic backing on it to stop liquids, but it doesn't make noise when you sleep on it. The other mattress pad I had had a plastic backing on it and every time I moved of the bed you could hear it "crinkle and make noise", this mattress pad doesn't make any noise. It has a 10 year warranty with it (haven't had to use it yet as I just put it on my bed about 2 weeks ago).

Nice quality protector
I washed this right away and followed the directions to make sure it would not be ruined. I put it on my mattress and it seemed great! I have small kids so something waterproof is needed for my bed. It definitely helped keep my very expensive mattress dry and stain free from the kids. I disliked how it made the bed feel with the terry cloth, seemed to be lumpy and also made me warmer at night. Not a fan of that. It performs well just personal preference of not liking how it felt while I slept

Love these mattress covers
I've been using these covers for several years now and I love them. The top of the cover is soft, and I never have to worry about getting the mattress wet with spilled water, coffee, etc, as the product works as advertised. I have purposely spilled water on the cover, and it does not leak through. I have these on our bed, and our guest beds, and will continue to protect our mattresses with these covers for as long as you make them. Thanks for a great product.

Easy to use website, although it would be nice to have a bit more of an explanation about the differences between specific products such as mattress protectors and sheet sets. However, emailing to reach one of the representatives was very helpful and easy to do. The representative was fast in responding, courteous, and helpful in my making the right choice of product. When I received the product, it was new and in excellent condition. Packaging was perfect and the product was just what I ordered and needed. I will definitely be shopping with Protect-A-Bed again!

I would definetly buy this product again and i recommend it.
I purchased 3 of these mattress protectors over 10 years ago. I really liked them. They keep anything that gets on the bed from penetrating through to the mattress. They are machine washable just like washing sheets. They work well and each of the previous covers I purchased lasted over 10 years. I recently purchased a new mattress so I purchased a new mattress cover just like the previous 3 that I have to protect my new mattress.

Excellent quality material
I loved the Protect A Bed protector for queen mattress because the terry cloth cotton material is very good and underlined with water proof membrane. The top surface is soft and inner membrane for protection. The inner membrane helps protect mattress from dust mites, allergens and mites. The soft terry cloth is good for keeping bed temperature cool in summer. I like it very much because it is quickly absorbing liquid spills and light bed wetting and protecting my mattress from getting wet. Highly recommended to others.

I have bought this product again and again!
This is the 4th protectabed I have purchased over the last 15 or so years. My family has continued to grow with 6 grandchildren now and these are the best protectors! I now have a cover for every bedroom. I would highly recommend this product!

Terrible Warranty
We purchased this protector with our very expensive Sterns and Foster king size mattress. It was replaced once when the cover was only 1 year old. The protective backing failed even though I had washed it like specified. The replacement cover is now 4 years old and the protective backing is flaking off again. I called but they will not replace again. Terrible warranty and all customer service wanted to do was offer me a coupon to buy another...yeah that is not happening. Will never buy one again.

Easy process to find and
Easy process to find and purchase product. It was fine until now I have to select yes for follow up in order to get order confirmation and customer care resolution services should any issues arise. Why? Shouldn't I get those anyway? Any other company I have purchased something from I get those automatically. Usually get an email confirmation with in 5 minutes. Also I went to several vendors stores and no one had queen size available. Maybe because it's the most popular?

I do not have mattresses without them
From the time I first learned about these almost 20 years ago, I NEVER buy a new mattress without buying these first. I am going from a Queen size bed to a full. The mattress is in a box unlike previous ones. It won't be coming either out until my cover arrives. I put this cover on BEFORE the others (kids beds too!) even came over my door step. I also recommended them to friends. Bed bugs- I'd rather prevent than treat. Thanks for such a great product

Great Product
This is my second time purchasing this item. It held up for 8 years. I was technically still within my warranty on the item, but could not for the life of me find the receipt for it. Anyhow, I purchased another one and it is just as great a the last one, but this time I remembered to register the product in case I need to submit a claim down the road. If you are looking for a mattress cover that is simplistic, but does it's job, this is it.
